Opening Bid - $1 million
1. You may add and drop Free Agents freely during the regular season with the following stipulations:
2. Players may be added via the Free Agent Bidding system.
3. You will pay the full salary of any players that you drop for the remainder of the season.
4. You will also have to pay half of the dropped player's salary the following season (this should keep guys with a lot of cap room from adding/dropping a bunch of guys in the last week or two of the season).
5. Dropped players may be claimed via waivers.
- There will be a waiver priority updated monthly based on the current standings.
- When dropped, a player will be placed on waivers for 48 hours.
- If the player is claimed, you no longer have to take a cap hit for dropping him.
- The person claiming this player will take on whatever contract he had when dropped.
- If nobody claims this player within the 48 hour period, you will still take the normal cap hit.
EX 1:
Team A place Cole Hamels SP $21 million on waivers
Team B claims Cole Hamels SP $21 million
---> Team A no longer has to take cap hit
EX 2:
Team A places Clay Bucholz SP $12 million on waivers
Nobody claims Bucholz.
---> Team A is charged with a $12 million cap hit for this year, and $6 million for next year
6. Another option is to buyout the players contract for the remainder of the year.
- Buyouts will have a 2X salary cap hit for the current season.
- No cap hit will be on the following season as with normal drops.
- The player will instantly surpass waivers.
EX:
Yunel Escobar $.5 million BUYOUT All cap hit on this year. CAP HIT OF $1 million
7. You will be allowed two medical FA drops per year.
A medical drop may be used if one of the following criteria for a player is met:
1. 60 day DL
2. Season ending surgery
3. On 15 or 7 day DL and injured for 60+ days
8. Remember the process bidding is: If you put a bid on a player teams have 24 hours to place a bid on that player. If there are 4 people that placed a bid after that 24 hours, then those 4 teams will keep bidding till 3 of them drop out of the bidding process. YOU MAY NOT PUT IN A BID AFTER 24 HOURS!!!!!
9. Any bid MUST be .1 or higher. Any bid of less than .1 will be considered an invalid and null and void.
10. NON TENDER PLAYERS - Teams non tender some players in the offseason. These players are then FA's in our league as well. Sometimes it is a really good thing in the long run but sometimes you may lose on a good talent. You can Franchise Tag them or obviously release them into FA.
